Deborah Jenkins
Deb Jenkins is a Touch for Health Instructor, practitioner, and massage therapist with over 25 years of hands-on experience supporting individuals and professionals through body-centered self-care and awareness-based practices.
Touch for Health is the most powerful and foundational system Deb uses in her work with both clients and students. As a TFH practitioner for more than 25 years and a TFH Instructor for over 10 years, she has consistently observed
that lasting confidence and accuracy in muscle testing come not from technique alone, but from developing Self-Awareness through Self-Noticing. Deb is especially passionate about the role Touch for Health Level 1 plays in
establishing this foundation. Her teaching clearly articulates why learning to work on oneself—through movement, sensation, and the body’s lock/unlock communication—is essential before effectively working with others. She is known for helping students move out of mental effort and into embodied awareness, where muscle testing becomes clearer, more reliable, and less intimidating. With a professional background in massage therapy and decades of direct
client work, Deb brings a practical, grounded perspective to TFH education. Her approach honors the integrity of the Touch for Health system while making it more accessible, understandable, and engaging for today’s learners. Confident, passionate, and deeply dedicated, Deb is committed to supporting the thoughtful growth of Touch for Health strengthening student confidence, improving retention, and helping ensure this powerful self-care system continues to thrive for future generations.

The First Conversation the Body has before the Muscle Test: Self-Noticing as the the Foundation of Touch for Health

Darcy Lewis
I was on a quest to find relief from chronic pain for 8 years. In 1980, I wandered into a free TFH lecture, volunteered as a demo, and within 5 minutes the pain was gone-never to return! Since then, TFH and I have traveled the path of life together. TFH led me to Brain Gym, PKP, Muscle Tuners, and so much more. My service on the TFHKA board of directors began about 2010, serving 8 of those years as president. I’ve spoken at many TFH and Brain Gym conferences, and I even presented my pelvic floor balance at the Hungarian Kinesiology conference. I’ve taught well
over a thousand TFH students, even teaching TFH 1-4 internationally. Sharing this work has been the joy of my life!

Embodying Awareness: Awakening our Understanding of the Signals our Body Creates for Balance and Harmony

Maurizio Piva
Like Touch for Health, Self Touch for Health is a method in which information about individual energy imbalances is received through body biofeedback. The difference is that while in Touch for Health the balance is performed by a third party, in Self Touch for Health it is performed directly on oneself. Muscles register changes in the body's physiology, manifesting them with changes in their tension. As for the user of Touch for Health, also for those who apply Self Touch for Health, the variation in muscle response is an indicator that allows them to establish communication with the body-mind-spirit system. While in Touch for Health, muscles are monitored starting from a static position, where the muscle is shortened and contracted at a point that puts it at an advantage over other muscles, in Self Touch for Health we perform a movement that records the muscle from the lengthened to the contracted position. The methods of using this type of biofeedback can vary; responses to specific
muscle movements are directly verified, or muscle movements are used to obtain other levels of information related to that movement. In Self Touch for Health, multiple muscles in the body are used simultaneously as a source of biofeedback, preceded by a specific movement that serves to
further activate a specific muscle, with or without the addition of further specific information. Therefore, the response of all the body's muscles will be relative to what was done previously. The muscles of the body will respond differently to indicate whether a specific harmonization is needed.
It is also possible to determine if a situation is creating emotional stress by thinking about that situation and simultaneously checking the response of the body's muscles. There are many responses, and although the responses are
generally the same in most people, they may vary from person to person. We will then proceed with the harmonization techniques, which will be chosen on a priority basis, always using the body response that is called Postural
Oscillatory test. The most appropriate harmonization techniques will change the body's response. The type of reflex that changes the response can also provide clues about the
factor contributing to the reduced harmony.
