Touch for Health Kinesiology Association Guide to Class Credits
|
Overview
|
| The Touch for Health Kinesiology Assoc. (TFHKA) of the U.S. offers several types of credits to students completing approved courses taught by TFHKA Professional Instructors: Instructor Qualification Credits and Continuing Education Credits (CE's). All nationally certified TFH instructors are qualified to offer these CEs.
The official curriculum for the TFH Synthesis (I-IV) is set internationally by theInternational Kinesiology College (IKC). The IKC, as the official accreditation body for Touch for Health, reviews and approves all courses that offer IKC credits. The IKC offers two basic types of credits: Primary Instructor Qualification (Tier 1) and Instructor Eligibility-renewal Credits (Tier 2).
The Energy Kinesiolgy Association (EnKA) of the U.S. is also an accreditation body recognized by TFHKA, however, the EnKA credits are not recognized as IKC credits required for becoming a TFHKA Professional Instructor.
TFHKAs offers Continuing Education Credits in the areas of massage therapyand nursing. TFHKA is approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodyworkers (NCBTMB) as a continuing education provider # 050467-00.
TFHKA is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider number CEP 13015 and offers Nursing CE's in most states. These credits are available for RN's and LPN's in all states except Florida, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota and Wyoming. Instructors in those states can apply directly with the appropriate state-licensing agency to provide continuing education credit to nurses.
Other professions, such as Social Workers, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Psychotherapists, Personal Trainers, Lifestyle Coaches, Counselors and Educators MAY qualify for credit but you will need to check with your licensing board. Each state and each modality determines acceptance. When attending a TFHKA class or conference each individual participant must verify, with his/her state Board, whether or not credits will be given.
